About Us

Affordable Environmental Services is a licensed and insured family-owned local residential & commercial plumbing and septic company with many years of experience in the industry serving South Florida.

We are specialized in residential & commercial plumbing, septic pumping, sewer, drain and grease trap services. We take pride in the hard work we put towards meeting every client’s expectation and building long lasting relationships with our clients.

Affordable Environmental Services is here for you, armed with the knowledge, products, and experience necessary to prevent such costly problems. We practice natural and non-toxic products while giving septic pumping service.

What makes us stand out in the crowd is that we don’t make use of dangerous or harsh chemicals. Septic tanks should run properly, hygienically, and safely. So, scheduling septic pumping services is essential in order to prevent the groundwater from being exposed to contamination, dangerous particles, and bacteria.

Owner & Founder

Services

Here are some of the high end services we provide to our customers.

Septic Pumping

Without septic pumping, the sludge will eventually build up and cause two serious issues. First, the sludge can start to block the drainage from the home and begin to back up the sewer lines. This will clog sinks and drains and send terrible odors into the home; it might even cause sewage to flow into the house.

Septic Installation

Overall, septic tanks do a good job of preventing contamination of the environment and underground water. Usually, centralized water treatment relies on chemicals to treat wastewater, but this is not necessary with septic systems. Instead, only the combination of bacteria and soil is used to treat the water.

Grease Traps

Grease traps are important for two reasons: protecting your plumbing system from clogging up with FOG and reducing the amount of FOG entering wastewater treatment systems. Fats, oils, grease, and other food particles become solid once they cool down. As they harden, they can cause clogs, backups, and overflows. A significant reason grease traps need to be cleaned regularly is for the health of your restaurant’s staff and patrons. As the grease sits in the trap, it slowly rots and turns rancid. This results in strong odors near your trap, but more importantly, it becomes a health risk.

General Plumbing

We provide general plumbing services and maintenance for home or businesses. Our services include water and gas, waste water and sewage installation and repair, pipes, valves, pumps, water heaters. In general plumbing, the different systems and fittings that are used to deliver water and gas throughout a structure and to remove waste water and sewage are installed, maintained, and repaired. Pipes, valves, pumps, water heaters, and other devices are a part of these systems.

Miami Beach, FL

Speedy work removed the clogged main drain. We were then given 5 estimates for different options to address the underlying cause of the blockage (tree roots), ranging from temporary to guaranteed-for-life fixes. The technician provided a video of the drainpipe, which showed us the problem. We are very happy with the service, the price, and the great communication.

Coral Gables, FL

I have used Affordable Environmental Services for 3 of my properties over the last 8 years (one – had the house re-piped, second, also re-piped and a new water main shut off put in, and the third was for more moderate plumbing repairs) and each time they have been AMAZING. On time, professional, fast and their quality of work has been outstanding.

Gary M.

Hialeah, FL

We had Carlos come out and clear our sewer line, and he was very professional and got it clog free within about 15min of arriving! In the future we will definitely be calling Affordable Environmental Services when we have any problems that arise, very satisfied with the service. It shows that Carlos runs a good company and his employees know their stuff.

Here are some of the amazing projects we have worked on and the people who make it possible.

Find quick answers for most common questions

How do septic tanks work?

In a few words: compartments and a T-shaped outlet prevent the sludge and scum from leaving the tank and traveling into the drain field area. The liquid wastewater (effluent) then exits the tank into the drain field. The drain field is a shallow, covered, excavation made in unsaturated soil.

Should I stay away from using a garbage disposal if I have a septic tank?

it’s generally not recommended to use a garbage disposal if you have a septic tank. There are bacteria that live inside the septic tank and exist to break down organic matter. This prevents the sludge levels inside the tank from increasing too quickly.

How often should I pump out the tank?

In general, a septic tank should be inspected every 1 to 3 years and pumped every 3 to 5 years. The frequency of pumping the septic tank depends on the tank size, number of people in the household, habits of water use as well as the amount of solids accumulated in the tank.

I’m moving into a home with a septic tank. What should I do about maintenance?

If you don’t know anything about the home’s septic tank, first find out where it is located. This is a good opportunity to have it dug up, inspected, and pumped at the same time. That way you’ll know exactly what you’re dealing with. (If you were to become aware of any issues during this first inspection, they should be taken care of right away. That way you won’t end up with a backup in your home.) From there, you can perform regular maintenance with products like BioOne. You should be able to go 15 or 20 years without doing anything else to the septic system.

Should a grease trap be full of water?

No. Your grease trap should never be completely full with water. That can lead to an overflow which could lead to contaminants getting into your local municipality’s sewer system.

How often should a grease trap be pumped out?

The frequency of restaurant grease trap cleanings vary with how often the kitchen produces FOGS. On average, cleanings should be performed every one to three months. Restaurants, cafeterias and other commercial kitchens are advised to set up a regular service schedule to avoid missing critical cleanings.

How often do you need to replace a grease trap?

Metal grease traps only last about 7 years. After 7 years, they need replacement. So, if you have a metal grease trap and it has outlived its useful life, have it replaced immediately.

How many loads of laundry a day are safe to do with a septic tank?

Some experts recommend limiting the number of loads of laundry per day to two or three, but other studies have shown that a septic system can handle up to seven loads of laundry without any significant impact on its performance. The key is to space out the loads so that the system has time to recover between each one.

Should laundry water go to septic tank?

Wastewater from your washing machine and dishwasher may either go to your septic tank and/or cesspool or to a separate disposal system called a dry well. This wastewater can be problematic due to its high concentrations of soaps and detergents, grease and paper.

What happens when you take long showers with a septic tank?

Don’t drain a bath, take a shower, wash clothes, wash dishes, etc. at the same time. Large amounts of water entering the system in a short amount of time can disrupt the tank and wash solids into the drain field.

Can you shower everyday with a septic tank?

While it can deal with the quantity of wastewater it’s designed for, overloading the system could cause problems. If you are a family of four and you each have half-hour showers every day, then a septic tank can cope with processing that much wastewater.
